Overview

While trying to open certain Youtube videos, especially Live streams, Kerio Control blocks the connection. The following error message appears on Youtube:

  Video unavailable. This video is restricted. Try signing in with a G Suite account

Changing DNS settings to point to Google's servers (8.8.8.8) shows intermittent success in resolving this error.

This article provides information on how to work around such problem by modifying Kerio Control configuration.

Solution

The Youtube Live videos are being blocked by Safe Search feature. As live videos might have explicit and unpredictable content (offensive comments, etc), Kerio Control restricts the connection.

To overcome such behavior:

1. Disable the Safe Search together with Forbidden Words filtering in Kerio Control -> Content Filter -> Safe Web tab.
   
2. Flush the DNS on Kerio Control.
   
3. Clear the browser Cache on the PCs.

4. Also flush the DNS on the client PCs if needed.

Testing

Youtube videos are opened without any restrictions.
