Overview
As an administrator, you can control which actions are taken on each specified Content Rule defined under Content Filters for Kerio Control. In order to have all the traffic logged, enable Log the traffic option. Each log will be written to the Filter log.
This article provides the required steps to set those actions and explanations of the available options in the Content Rules section.
Solution
-
In Kerio Control's administration interface, navigate to Configuration > Content Filter.
- Under the Content Filter tab, double-click the Action column. The Content Rule - Action window appears.
The following table describes the actions you can set in the Action field of the Content Rule - Action window.
Action Description
Allow When this action is selected, traffic is allowed. With the allow rule, you can create the following types of rules:
- Skip antivirus scanning for selected users, IP addresses, or hostnames.
- Skip forbidden words filtering for selected users, IP addresses, or hostnames.
- Do not require authentication for selected users, IP addresses, or hostnames.
Deny When this option is used, the user is redirected to the firewall page, and it displays information indicating that the access is denied. You can redirect a user to another page, as you see fit. It's possible to set custom Deny Text, that will be shown to the users.
Email notifications can be sent to the users, maximum 1 notification per 1 hour for each rule.
WARNING: This works only for HTTP sites. Blocked HTTPS sites cannot be redirected to another URL, or the custom denial page. The page will time out for the user.
Drop When this action is set, the access is denied, and the user will see the page as unavailable.
- Click OK to save the changes.
Confirmation
Once you save the changes, the specified action for the Content Rule in question is set, and the action is displayed in the Action column of the rule in the Content Rules tab.
