Overview
As an administrator, you can reserve an IP address (within the DHCP scope) based on the MAC address of active hosts in Kerio Control; this can be helpful when administrators want specific IP addresses assigned to certain hosts always.
Note: This is only possible if Kerio Control can see the MAC address of the host.
Process
-
In Kerio Control's administration interface, navigate to Status > Active Hosts.
-
Select a host and right-click on it.
-
Click on Make DHCP Reservation by MAC. Kerio Control opens a window with information about the new configuration.
-
Click OK.
IMPORTANT: The Kerio Control's DHCP server reserves the MAC address if the DHCP server in Kerio Control is enabled and the scope of IP addresses is created on the interface. If you use Kerio Control MAC Filter, check the Also permit MAC addresses used in DHCP reservations or automatic user login box.
Confirmation
The DHCP reservation has been configured based on the MAC addresses, and every time the active host requests an IP, it will receive the IP addresses reserved. For additional information on DHCP scopes and reservation in Kerio Control, refer to the below articles.
