Overview
Using the certificate means that administrators have to select it in the specific settings, e.g., for SSL certificates for the VPN server, administrators need to select them by going to Interfaces > VPN Server. This article provides the steps necessary to import and export certificates signed by a certification authority (CA) in Kerio Control.
Process
-
In Kerio Control's administration console, navigate to Configuration > Definitions > SSL Certificates.
-
Click Add and then New Certificate Request, as shown in the image below.
-
In the New Certificate Request window, enter the hostname of Kerio Control, the official name of your company, city, and country where your company resides, and the period of validity. The Hostname field is a required field.
-
Choose the certificate request and click More Actions > Export.
-
Save the certificate to your disk and send it to a certification organization, e.g., Verisign, Thawte, SecureSign, SecureNet, Microsoft Authenticode, etc., so it can be signed and validated.
-
Once you obtain the certificate signed by a certification authority, navigate to Definitions > SSL Certificates.
-
Choose the original certificate request. Keep in mind that the certificate request and the signed certificate must match.
-
Click More Actions > Import, and choose the option that best suits you. Once imported, the certificate replaces the certificate request.
